Spice Rating: 🌶️🌶️

This was my first book by AJ Alexander, and I'm 100% going back to read the first 2 books in this series.

I absolutely loved Alise and Beau's story. This book is full of mental, as well as physical, health rep. As a paramedic with mental health issues, I love that these weren't things that were glossed over as just another blip in the character's lives. It's part of their stories. They were the story. It might have taken some pushing from family from time to time, but Alise and Beau both had to work through their own mental hangups, and physically for Beau, before they could really be what they needed to be for each other.

If you're looking for a spice/smut filled hockey romance, this book isn't what you’relooking for. There is some spice, yes, but this isn't one of those books where it carries the story. The spice is where it needs to be and nowhere extra. There is an actual, worked out plot for this one that isn't just the MC's jumping each other's bones every 2 seconds (not that there's anything wrong with that when the time is right).

All in all, I definitely recommend this book. If reading about anxiety/panic attacks or serious medical episodes triggers you, please read this book with caution. 💜
